Hello, and welcome to our community of twins, triplets and more! We started this site for our book Multiples Illuminated: A Collection of Stories and Advice From Parents With Twins, Triplets and More, and are thrilled that it has evolved into a community by and for parents of multiples. We are so happy that you found us and we hope you will stay and explore the resources we have available to you.
Multiples Illuminated was founded by Megan Woolsey and Alison Lee, both writers and mothers of multiples (triplets and twins respectively). Together, we birthed our first anthology Multiples Illuminated: A Collection of Stories and Advice From Parents With Twins, Triplets and More, featuring essays from 20 talented writers and parents of multiples. These essays tell stories of struggles with infertility, the journey with IVF and surrogacy, the struggles and triumphs of pregnancy, labor and delivery, the trials and tribulations in the NICU, and the amazing first years with multiples.
Multiples parents have a special and unique bond that tie us together. Our hope is that readers will find value and entertainment connecting with fellow parents of multiples and learning about their journey.
Megan Woolsey lives in Northern California with her family of six, including 8-year-old triplets and a vivacious 11-year-old big sister. She has been authoring her blog, The Hip Mothership since she was in the hospital eating copious amounts of jello while on bedrest pregnant with triplets. That was eight years ago. The Hip Mothership chronicles life raising multiples as well as general parenting and social topics. When Megan isn’t busy writing or blogging, she loves hot yoga, long walks and dinner with friends that includes good bottles of wine. Megan has been published in Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, XOJane, Mamalode, BLUNTmoms, Bonbon Break, Role Reboot, Great Moments In Parenting and Erma Bombeck’s Writer’s Workshop. She has an essay published in the hilarious anthology, It’s Really 10 Months Special Delivery.
Alison Lee is a former PR and marketing professional turned work-at-home mother. After a 10-year career in various PR agencies, and of the world’s biggest sports brands, she traded in product launches and world travel for sippy cups, diapers, and breastfeeding. Alison is a former blogger (Writing, Wishing), and her writing has been featured on Mamalode, On Parenting at The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Everyday Family, Scary Mommy, Club Mid, Mothers Always Write, Parent.co, Sammiches & Psych Meds, Feminine Collective, and DrGreene.com. She has essays in two anthologies: My Other Ex: Women’s True Stories of Leaving and Losing Friends (Fall, 2014) and So Glad They Told Me: Women Get Real About Motherhood (Summer 2016). Because she doesn’t sleep, she worked as an editor at BonBon Break, an online magazine. Alison survives and thrives on coffee and cake for breakfast, is an avid fan of the Oxford comma, and lives in Malaysia with her husband and four children (two boys and boy/ girl twins).
